From the series: I am outta here, 2020...

What happens when knowledge is lost? What happens when species names and habitats are in danger of disappearing? As the title humorously suggests, the animals depicted are species that are already extinct, threatened with extinction or have an unclear endangered status. The naturalistic animal motifs have been applied to the written sides of postcards that were once sent out, with lettering that forms the words visit or visitor in large colored letters in the national language of the country from which the postcard was sent. A pencil signature can be found on each postcard. This consists of the name of the depicted animal or its family. In some cases, the human addressee has been crossed out and the name of the animal noted in its place. Although all of the depicted animals belong to generally known taxa and animal families, it can only be determined which species the individual works actually refer to by closely inspecting the artist´s handwritten additions.
